Calm in the midst of Chaos
Busy activity in a roadside restaurant run by a Muslim family in Northern Thailand. We were high in the mountains on the border of Burma when we discovered this place and its Muslim owners. A pocket of Muslims has been carved out even here. The kitchen was a flurry of activity, but nobody seemed rushed, just focused. That’s an important personal trait, being calm even in the midst of chaos so you think clearly and act purposefully even when in a busy moment. Usually when we “lose it” it’s when we feel pressured and drop our self control. Then we just react instead of acting and usually regret our words and missed opportunities to connect with someone because we lost our quiet center. Food for thought.
