Sherry has been working to help Filipinos John and Ethel Ligero and their team find a house so they could get set up for their audio project here in Northern Thailand. They are working with a ministry called “Faith comes by hearing” that is determined to get the gospels recorded in as many tribal languages as possible. Many of these societies had no written language until missionaries developed it for them in order to allow them to read the Bible for themselves. John and Ethel have taken on the recording of the Gospels in the Ahka language. (We have known them for years from Manila from our ASCM Bible School Days). Sherry got them a house to rent across the street from ours and as you can see from the photos they have set up a very effective and cost efficient recording studio using laptops, styrofoam and cardboard. The dramatized version is being read by over a dozen readers, each chosen by audition to read the words of different characters in the Gospel narratives. We are proud of the work Filipinos like John and Ethel are doing around the world. Filipinos make amazing missionaries!
