Learning to Master the Things that Matter

The Marriage I Want

wedding-bands

I don’t want Sherry to feel trapped
I want her to continually open up because she trusts me completely
I want to release all that is inside of her
I don’t want her to fear me
I don’t want her to ever dread meeting with me
I don’t want her to draw back from me
I want to protect her and provide for her
I want to be a shelter and a covering for her
I don’t want to demand her love. I want her to give it freely.

And then I find Ephesians 5.32 and I realize that God wants the same from me in our relationship. It helps me see Him differently.

i looove you soo much for being so faithful to mamma. I remember you telling me, “I have one real goal in life: never to cheat on your mamma.” There are too few men out there that share that goal, it’s simply not on the list. Thanks for being classy cuban: )

Thanks Kris, Cubans are cool… I do want to see u all on my deathbed and be able to say that I was faithful to your momma and also to all of you. That will be a life well-lived.

  3. I love those words Chuck! I still have a lot of growing to do, but one thing left a wonderful feeling in my heart: Mark and I trust each other completely. When we found out I was pregnant the doctor asked if he needed to do an HIV test for the baby and instantly we just said: No because we are completely faithful to one another, and I’m so glad that I have found that person who I trust and cherish! Thank you for all your prayers!

Thanks Sophia, Sherry and I are still working at our marriage every day, but this is how we want to live together. Once you commit to stick together for life no matter what, then you are left only with the choice of being miserable or working on your attitude and actions so that your life together is sweet and rewarding. A good marriage is a lot of work but there is nothing like it on the earth.
