Learning to Master the Things that Matter

Update on Our Fund Raising

money_coinsMuch has changed since our fund appeal in June and July. We went into the month of June unable to return to Thailand due to a pretty massive shortfall in monthly support and also a sizable debt due to our moving expenses into Thailand. I am happy to report that we have seen a lot of progress since then. We’re not completely there yet, but things are looking much different than on June first.

Honestly, this has been the most difficult fund-raising time we have ever had due to the economy, of course, but also because of changes in the life of the typical American church. Formerly, churches had strong attendance three times a week (Wednesday nights and twice on Sundays). Getting an opening was no trouble then and pastors generally supported the system of asking for monthly pledge for missionaries. Now the average church has just four strong meetings a month. Every Sunday is a high pressure event and there is great competition for the pulpit as a place for promoting the various causes most churches engage in. We were given less than 5 minutes in some churches. Four Sundays also means that the average church has just four chances to collect funds for its ministries. Many churches are now battling debt making missions harder to support.

I said all that to show what we’ve been through and also to say our deepest thanks to all of our existing support team members who made renewed commitments for the next two years. Your willingness to continue with us again took us 60% to our goal. New partners are helping to make up the difference. We recognize the sacrifice that this was for all of you and pray that the Lord restores all that you will sacrifice for His mission. We hope to be able to report complete funding by our next newsletter. This is important because when we hit Thailand we need to be totally focused on our work and not our finances.

dear aunt sherry & ptr chuck,

we will be praying for more funds to come in. let us know how we can get more involved in terms of events, fund raisers.

the magazine i’m working with right now, whatmag, inc’s one voice has gone from almost the same journey as well, financially. we are reaching the young and have answered the call for missions in the media. God has opened doors for us as took on what i call an aggressice obedience, taking one step at a time in pursuing every open door to reach the lost through teh magazine. we have seen a lot of progress and growth in terms on organization, manpower & funding, including good networks. we want to be TOP RANK. we strictly follow and improved our timetable, grabbed every opportunity, made more responsible, alignment & accounatability always checked, including networks, imploring keys & kites- innovation & creativity.

the National Youth Council will be in partnership with us making us official magazine for their up coming national congress. we expect to print from 2K to 10K by that time, circulation from South Manila to the whole of the country less the expense and more opportunities flooding in. We praise God for the increase.

i have personally been following the simple principles of your personal life management manual, applying it in the business operations management of the said magazine. i’ve been followinf suit this polish arrow as well: law of exposure, power of partnership, exponentiaL GROWTH.

THANKS very much ptr chuck, you’ve left an imprint that’s bearing fruit where i am planted right now. we will keep praying. again we are willing to help in terms of organizing events for you.
