Thread #8: Good Works Done Discretely

August 05, 2009

Whatever happened to good works? This is a basic part of being a disciple of Jesus.

But what do you do if you are in a hurry to get someplace when you encounter someone who has a need? This episode has answers from the life of Jesus himself.

  1. Nice teaching.
Not just clinical, either – good practical advice, encouragement and direction.

Thanks for the time you put into this.

Amazing! I can’t help but noticed that Jesus’ ‘strategic location’ for ministry is the people. Being all-knowing, Jesus knew that the leper would spread the news once he’s healed. But,Jesus was “moved with compassion, reached out and touched him” (v.41 a) ‘jeopardised’ the so called ‘strategy’(contemporary Christian trend) to reach out more people. The amazing thing was, when Jesus ‘touched’ one life (the leper), large crowd was drawn to Him.

I would also want to take this opportunity to thank you Pastor Chuck for touching my life. Even during the time that I rebelled against God and hurt many, your testimony, and example help me find my way back to my Heavenly Father. I know, you don’t need public praise, but I know you deserve it…….

Hey Marsha, Thanks for the encouragement! Glad the Lord brought you back to his arms and got you on the road of discipleship again.

Hey, do me a favor and help spread the word about the podcast, ok? Thanks!

I’ve been spreading the news…. especially here, we really need to hear the WORD, a ‘fresh air.’ I guess just like Philippines, Australia’s Christianity is basically just a religious affiliation. I remember your last podcast, about believing Jesus vs. believing in what He value, and it’s sad to realize that we find it easier to believe in Him than to uphold on things He value.

Your podcast is a breath of fresh air…. even your old sermon on money, sex and power is relevant to our present time. A friend of mine even commented that while listening to your podcast, especially the podcast on ‘sex’, she felt as if the passages in the Bible you used was brought to life.

Thank you so much. May the Lord God that you serve with your heart, might and with all your soul richless bless you…
